Amazing experience, our guide was on time, good communication, great safari vehicle, fast track queue was well worth it as we zoomed past alot of others at 5.45 am. Booking the tour with the ticket included paid off. We were able to drive past the line of jeeps and had only a very short wait at the entrance to the national park. The guide provided us with some information about the animals. We found it a bit concerning that there are a lot of jeeps in the national park. When rare animals are spotted, it's almost a race to get a spot to watch them. We think this is the case throughout the national park, no matter which tour. 7 hours was the right choice. You are in the park early in the morning and are finished around noon.

We had an unforgettable experience with our guide and driver tikiri. His adventurous spirit and excitement for the animals was fantastic! Massive long line for entering to park but We are like VIP's. No wait directly to the gate for entering. Saw the bear, leopard (twice), elephants, lots of water buffaloes, lots of crocodiles, lots of peacocks, eagles, moose and many more birds. Our safari driver was truly experienced. At one point, he was driving in reverse and fast just to catch the sight of leopard. Highly recommended this operator.

It was perfect. We saw a lot of animals, had a great group, driver was in time and always tried that we see different kind of animals. The only thing I would like to mention for others doing the day trip, between 12-14 aka noon-2pm the park is closed and you'll be at a restaurant on the parkside and have to take a break for 2 hours since the park is closed. We did not know that but would have taken a book or game with us if we would have known that before.
We did the Yala safari and was unreal. Our driver Sasanka did all the posible that we could spot the Leopards at the safari and we did, we also saw another lovely animals, like elephants, bulls and deers. Thank you for the nice experience!!

Incredible Safari Experience! Yala National Park is absolutely breathtaking the perfect mix of adventure and natural beauty! From the moment the jeep rolled in, we were surrounded by stunning landscapes, peaceful lakes, and so much wildlife. The safari itself was absolutely amazing. We saw everything from elephants, leopards, jackals, water buffalo, mongoose, monkeys, crocodiles and all kinds of birds. A wonderful safari experience and one of the highlights of our Sri Lanka trip. We saw many elephants a leopard in their natural habitat, along with buffaloes, birds, and other wildlife. The park is well maintained, the scenery is beautiful, and the safari was both exciting and peaceful.

We booked skip the line package that was worth buying it. Our over all experience was good we were lucky to spot leopards. Our tickets included breakfast which was very disappointing. In my opinion that safari should end in maximum 2 or 3 hours otherwise you start getting bored and tired
The enjoyment of a safari tour largely depends on the driver's skill, and thanks to their flexible approach this time, we were able to encounter a variety of animals. In particular, seeing a leopard, which I had given up on seeing, will be a memory I will cherish forever.
We had the most wonderful day safari with the fantastic Ishan as our guide. He was brilliant at finding all the wildlife the park has to offer - including leopards, elephants, crocodiles, buffalos, owls, eagles, toucans and so many other animals. The breakfast and lunch provided were delicious too. We can't recommend this trip enough and if you're lucky enough to have Ishan as your guide, you're in the best hands possible.

The safari was great, lucky enough to see a leopard among other things, our guide Bale, was really strategic in making that happen for us. The skipping the line for the Yala entry ticket was a really good move and highly recommend that to other travellers. Just meant that the guides could pick us up a little later, and there was no exchange of money on the day. Guides are great at spotting things, but I recommend you letting them know if you see something also, they will stop and make sure you see what you want to see.
It was an unforgettable experience. Our driver Dilan was very experienced and always on the right place for us to spot all kinds of animals - as well as explaining us a lot about them. The park is big and offers a lot nice views all around. We can recommend the 7 hours tour starting from the morning, to get a high chance of spotting the leopards.

We bought a last-minute trip through GetYourGuide and we are very happy. Dilan was a very good guide, thanks to him we saw many beautiful animals. He told us some interesting facts, but above all he was focused on driving and looking for animals. Most of the time we drove alone, without other cars, and could admire the beautiful views and wildlife. The only madness was when we were looking for leopards. Then it was really crowded with jeeps, but we expected that, after all, "There is no safari without leo." However, everyone hopes to see a leopard, so I understand that and I was very happy when we were able to observe one. Dilan treated us to a delicious homemade breakfast. We had the best afternoon on Safari with Sasanka. We were travelling for our honeymoon and we were lucky enough to see all of the different types of animals. Sasanka was knowledgable, funny and knew exactly where to find the animals we wanted to see, which made the safari extra special!
The service was first class, whether car, food or pick-up. The guide always managed to point out lots of animals - especially elephants - and birds. So it was a fantastic day. However, it felt like there were hundreds of jeeps on the tour. There was a huge crowd, especially when leopards were spotted. There was not always fair behavior among the drivers. If you can, you should avoid booking the tour at the weekend.

We buy your permits the day before, so your jeep drives straight to the entrance instead. As one guest put it, they “zoomed past a lot of others at 5.45am”.
Yes, in full. The Department of Wildlife entrance ticket — about $43 per adult and $22 per child if you were buying it yourself — is already bought and included in the price you see on this page. There is no add-on to tick and no ticket option at checkout, because there is nothing left to buy.
No. Nothing at the gate, nothing to the driver, no local cash needed for entry. The price on this page covers the park ticket, the jeep, the tracker-guide, hotel pickup and drop-off, your meals, water, binoculars and all taxes. Tips are yours to decide on and never expected.
The 7-hour morning safari is $73 per person and the full-day safari is $114 per person, both from two people sharing and both with the park entrance ticket already included. A solo traveller pays the two-person rate, because the jeep, the driver and the permit queue cost the same whether one person or two is in the vehicle.

The one thing we cannot do is a same-day booking: a member of our team has to be at the ticket office the evening before to buy your permit, so booking on the morning itself is too late for this tour. Yala closes to vehicles between roughly noon and 2pm. It is the Department of Wildlife's rule, not ours, and it applies to every operator. On the full-day tour you spend that window at a parkside restaurant over lunch — several guests have told us they wished they had brought a book or a pack of cards, so we are telling you now. The 7-hour tour finishes before the closure and does not run into it at all.

Yala holds the highest density of leopards anywhere in the world and an early, unhurried start on the quieter tracks is the best hand you can play — which is exactly what skipping the queue buys you. Yes, and children aged 3 to 11 travel at a reduced rate because their park ticket costs less than an adult's. Infants under 3 are free. The jeep is open-sided with bench seating, so a toddler will need a lap on the rougher tracks. The tour is not suitable for pregnant women, guests with back problems or wheelchair users — the tracks are genuinely rough.
